NASA’s new head of science, Dr Nicola Fox, joins Space Boffins Sue Nelson and Richard Hollingham to chat about Mars sample return, solar missions and asteroids. We also meet one of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) new astronaut recruits, Pablo Alvarez, and one of its most experienced astronauts, Alexander Gerst, as the agency prepares for the Artemis missions to the Moon. Plus we discuss the joy of boffins, Starship’s rapid unscheduled disassembly and which ESA astronaut will be the first to step on the lunar surface?
