Lung and skin manifestations of pseudomonas septicaemia

Share

An autopsy specimen from a child with severe burns who developed a pseudomonas infection of the denuded skin and died of pseudomonas septicaemia. The child's lung shows a large number of tiny, whitish abscesses with central umbilication typical of pseudomonas septicaemia. The skin shows two of the many blisters on the child's body. In the floor of the lower burst blister is a pseudomonas abscess.
